Online Business Opportunity Scams [Podcast]

In this podcast I discuss online business opportunity scams, what scams really are and how to avoid them. I start with the idea that there are actually very few online scams, rather too many people out on the Internet that are trying to generate income with business opportunities with very little training, very few if any marketing skills and a general ignorance of any methods of marketing that work.

A genuine scam is where con artists design an email to con you out of money; check the Nigerian scam.

Another scam is when someone creates a website to mimic a known bank’s site and entices you to provide your current information in order to take money from your account.

What a scam is for most people is a situation where someone gets involved with a business opportunity, is told that this particular system is easy to promote and even easier to make money with and when the unsuspecting newbie can’t seem to make things work then it has all been a scam.

The reality, once again, is that the person didn’t know how to market and the person selling the program to the newbie was hyping up the opportunity beyond reasonable expectations. The culprit here – for both the sales person and the hopeful millionaire – was greed.

What people really need to do here is find ways to determine whether or not a program has a potential for success, how to find existing markets of people that are looking for your products or opportunity and how to create content that will entice them to get involved with you.

Online business opportunity scams? There are very few out there.
